MIDI
Maestro MM4 has been released!
MM4
represents the first major update for MIDI Maestro in quite
some time. Everything that went into this release followed
directly from user feedback--meaning YOU helped to design it!
several notable
new features
of MIDI Maestro MM4
-
Folders (and sub-folders) may be added to the set list for
organization.
-
VSTi soft-synth instrument support. Actually, the entire
waveform audio processing code was re-written to support this,
and now offers high-quality MIDI/audio synchronization.
-
A "Lead-Sheet" view allows you to see a melody line, chords
and lyrics on a page format.
-
A "Time" view replaces the old "audio" view. This view now
operates just like the Clips view, except that minutes and
seconds are used as the scale rather than measures and ticks.
-
The set list, track list, and staff/lead-sheet views may be
opened as top-level windows.
-
The Wave
Maker - a powerful tool for creating audio files (wave or
Windows Media) ready to be cut to CD. Song and set playback
may be automated for easy MIDI to Audio "conversion."
-
Roland Sound Files (RSD type) may be imported.
-
Each song's properties page allows you to set an initial tempo
and relative volume.
-
A Find command allows you to search for or filter-select
events.
-
New Edit menu commands to "randomize" and "thin controller
data."
-
All new documentation
Oh, is that
all?
No, there's more! There are a number of other "smaller"
features and changes that make using MIDI Maestro easier than
ever before:
- The +/-t track property
now has units of milliseconds rather than ticks.
- The Vamp cue now offers
a "last ending" option to skip a number of measures on the
last vamp.
- Audio clips are
"previewed" in the Clips and Time views.
- The Go-to dialog box now
offers a list of song markers.
- Cues colors may be
customized.
- Using the conductor Tap
command, the initial tempo may be tapped before the song
begins.
- The Transport/Previous
song command (and button) now rewinds to the beginning of
the song. If already at the beginning of the song, then
the song is changed.
- Lyrics in the Staff view
now align better, and may be assigned a font of your
choosing
- The Lyric properties
dialog has been changed to conform to MMA recommendations,
which call for spaces to be placed at the END of syllables
that end words, not at the beginning. Also, the CR
character should be used to end lines, and the LF
character to end paragraphs.
- The Chord properties
dialog has been changed to place standard rather than
Roman numerals for fret numbers.
- Graphics rendering
efficiency has been greatly improved
- New splash, program
icon, as well as brand-new 256-color large icons for
".mid" files and ".set" files
