Wordlearn is an improved version of the well known flash-card system. It is especially designed to learn the vocabulary of foreign languages. But it can also be used to learn any other subject, eg. grammar or mathematics. Thanks to different powerful tools, working with Wordlearn is very efficient.

Wordlearn is used by elementary school children up to university students or individual persons improving their knowledge. The easy, windows based user interface makes it also possible for computer novices to work with Wordlearn.

Test dialogs

You can choose from a verbal, a written or a multiple choice test. The verbal dialog is to learn a lot of words in a very short time. You just need to think about the answer and tell the program if you had the word correct or not. With the written test dialog, you can consolidate the vocabulary. The multiplechoice test makes it easy to learn words of a new vocabulary.

This window is to do verbal tests. This helps you to learn a lot of words in a very short time. After the question is asked, you just need to think about the answer and press "Go On". The answer is shown and you have to tell the programm if you were right or not.

Written test dialog window

With this window you can do written tests. By doing this test, the vocabulary is stored much deeper than doing the verbal test, but it requires more time. After the question is asked, you have to type in the answer. The program tells you if the answer was correct or not.

Multiple choice test

The multiplechoice test ist the fastest way to learn the words. You can choose, how many possibilities you have. Wordlearn asks a question and displays 2-6 answers. You have to choose the correct one.

Editors

In this window, you can change words in a list, delete words or add new ones. You can sort the list in different sort modes. By double clicking on an entry, you can change it. There are two editors to add new words to a list. One is to enter induvidual new words, the other one is to enter verbs in their conjugated forms. Each of these is designed to enter the new words as efficient as possible.
You can record a sound for each Headword and each Translation. For example the pronunciation of the foreign word. This sound is played in a test, when the corresponding word is displayed. You can also assign a picture with each entry, which is displayed when you do a test.

Text To Speech synthesis(TTS)

With Speech Synthesis (TTS) your Computer can speak the asked words. Using spoken and written language at the same time makes you learning the words faster and you learn also how to pronunciate the words.
